With its Mediterranean climate and diverse landscape, Napa is the ideal place for many outdoor activities, including golf. While the Inn is located in the heart of the downtown area of Napa, we are only a short drive away from a few highly esteemed golf resorts. Think of the greenest grass surrounded by the best that Napa has to offer: valleys and vineyards.
The reasons for playing golf vary from the views, to the fact that anyone can play, to the snack bar by the 9th hole. Golf truly is a sport and pastime that anyone and everyone can enjoy. You can read just why golf is the greatest in this article published by the NY Times. The article includes that golf is so great because it takes you outdoors and allows you to really capture the views and landscapes of different courses around the world. Although, we like to think that the Napa Valley just might be on the top of that list for views!
Although golf can be for everyone, only a select few are encouraged to play the game professionally. Napa gets to host one of those professional tournaments this year at the Silverado Resort and Spa. The Silverado Resort is a short ten minute drive from the Inn, on the east side of town. You can find more information about the PGA Safeway Open here.
For just $30, you can gain access to four on-course venues with great views of the tournament. Each venue will be featuring gourmet food and beverages from chefs Thomas Keller, Charlie Palmer, and Morimoto. Also, you can enjoy live music after golf on the mansion lawn Thursday, Friday and Saturday Nights! The bands include the X Ambassadors, Charles Kelley, and Third Eye Blind.
This event corrals the best golfers, chefs, wineries, and musicians into one place, and we could not be more excited that it is happening in our own backyard.
Chef Dianne has prepared a wonderful menu for the week of the event that showcases her humor, wit, and innovative recipes. We may not be the best golfers in town, but we do have one of the best chefs. Come and recharge before watching the professionals on the grass! If you cannot make it out this October, be sure to visit us soon for a trip full of golfing, eating, drinking, relaxing, and whatever else you want to work in your schedule.
The Napa Valley truly has it all!
