The Inn on Randolph, the Top-Rated Inn in Napa, California, is an Entirely Gluten-Free B&B

Inn-on-Randolph-small-logoHave you longed to visit California's wine country but wondered where you'd stay -- and more importantly...where you'd eat?

Thanks to Karen Lynch, proprietor of The Inn on Randolph, you can now visit Napa and Sonoma without any worries about how you'll safely follow your gluten free diet.

Karen has been gluten free herself for 7 years. After purchasing the Inn, gutting it down to the studs, and transforming this historic 19th century home into a stunning and peaceful modern retreat, she decided that she wanted The Inn on Randolph to be a completely gluten free B&B. That was a year and half ago. Initially, she didn't broadcast the fact that she had a dedicated gluten free kitchen. Like many other gluten free innkeepers and restauranteurs, she worried it might "turn off" some prospective guests. So guests came and went -- and raved about the food -- not even knowing it was gluten free.

Randolph_front_nightIn fact, The Inn on Randolph quickly ascended the rankings on Trip Advisor -- in large part due to the wonderful food -- and is now the #1 Rated Inn in Napa out of 84 inns!

It was a visit by one particular guest, however, that made Karen change her mind about how she promoted the Inn. Her guest was so overwhelmed with joy at being able to have such wonderful (and safe) gluten free food prepared for her. It was at that moment that Karen realized she needed to start "getting the word out" about the Inn's gluten free kitchen. Keeping it a "secret" wasn't helping the people that could really benefit.

Inn-on-randolph-kitchenWhen staying at The Inn on Randolph, you'll enjoy a world-class breakfast prepared daily in their gluten-free kitchen. You'll start off with a breakfast buffet consisting of organic yogurt, homemade granola, fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, and tea. A hot entree -- which varies each day -- follows. Some of their specialties include bacon wrapped polenta and egg, vanilla bean pancakes, quinoa cakes with a fresh caprese scramble, and smoked salmon hash with a poached egg. You'll also have the opportunity to enjoy appetizers before the dinner hour.

For your other meals, you'll be thrilled to know that there are now many gluten-free friendly places to eat in and around Napa. In fact, C-Casa and Pica Pica Maize Kitchen are both nearby -- and both gluten free. A third gluten free restaurant, Cate & Co., will be opening in the next week or so. There's also Hurley's Restaurant and Bar, which offers a Gluten Free Menu in nearby Yountville.

Inn-on-randolph-bedroomStaying at the Inn gives you an opportunity to take a true "vacation from worry" and recharge. It's the best of both worlds...a historic property that's been stunningly renovated with modern conveniences. Set on close to an acre of land, there are several buildings, allowing guests to choose from historic rooms or cottages. There's even a spa where you can indulge in a massage, and there are private gathering spaces to hold special events and weddings. Lovely terraces and stone paths invite guests to stroll or sit while enjoying the temperate climate. While the Inn is secluded, it's also central to everything you want from Napa.

Karen and her team are ready to make your stay one to remember and are happy to help you plan an itinerary. If you've never spent time in downtown San Francisco, you could opt for an extended stay at the Inn on Randolph and use it as your base for exploring all the city has to offer. Having lived in San Francisco myself from 1999-2002, I can say with conviction that you'll fall in love with this city! And there are plenty of gluten-free friendly restaurants there as well. See for yourself by doing a quick search on our website, GlutenFreeTravelSite, where you can find the best spots and even read reviews from other GF folks (just enter San Francisco in the search box on the page linked above).

Here are a few words from happy gluten free guests of The Inn on Randolph, taken from reviews submitted to GlutenFreeTravelSite:

" In addition to the healthy food options the inn itself was absolutely lovely. We stayed in the Randolph Room and it was quiet, comfortable, and very clean. We had our own private patio just outside the bedroom which was a great place to sit with a bottle of wine each night after dinner. I highly recommend the Inn on Randolph to those heading out to Napa, CA."

Randolf_housefront" I am staying at the Inn on Randolph, in downtown Napa and I am loving every minute. The Inn is completely gluten free ( even the bath products). Breakfast has been absolutely amazing. Today we had bacon wrapped polenta and I am still thinking about it. The Inn has been completely renovated and belongs on the cover of Conde Nast magazine. Karen and her staff are true professionals..."

" The Inn also offers weekend-long, terrific gluten free cooking and baking classes taught by San Francisco allergy-free baker, Jeffery Larsen. So after the first weekend of staying at the Inn, I was kindly invited back to attend the holiday baking class the following weekend. I attended one full day of baking, but I would strongly recommend signing up for an entire weekend of baking and wonderful camaraderie that forms between all of the guests sharing their stories and bonding over good food and creativity."
